Fellow Artists

My father, John Mason,  is a very good artist, from whom my sisters and I learned a great deal. As we were growing up, Dad was always doing something creative. Whether it was making furniture, or crafting jewelry, or painting a landscape, he worked with enthusiasm, style and talent. Along the way he inspired all of us to reach beyond ourselves, to stretch our imagination and to become artists in our own right. Today John Mason has mastered the universe of digital art and has created the most beautiful and intricate frames, crosses, butterflies, and other fractal based forms I have ever seen.

My dear friend, mentor and sister, Becky Mason, is an inspiration and a wonderful bead artist. Please check out her web site. If you live in the Orlando area and are interested in learning to make lampwork beads, Becky has a small teaching studio and teaches lampwork on every level from beginner to advanced.

Janet Robinson is one of the original members of the Houston Society of Glass Beadmakers (HSGB) and our newsletter co-editor.  She creates hand blown shards that she sells in a shop on Etsy.  Many well known beadmakers use Janet's shards to create their own beads.

Dan Robinson is a pediatrician by day and creator of the famous "bead box" by night.  His beautiful and sought after bead boxes are crafted using wooden cigar boxes and are little works of art by themselves.  You can buy his boxes in his Etsy store.

Lisa Diamont makes beautiful lampwork beads and is the co-founder of the Houston Society of Glass Beadmakers. You can buy beads directly from her through her web site and Lisa does special orders too!

Jan Locander is also one of the original members of the HSGB and is a talented beadmaker and teacher.  If you are interested in seeing her work in person just drop by the Houston Pottery Guild store.  Jan also teaches private lessons in her Woodlands studio.

Suzy and Kate are a mother and daughter jewelry designing team and members of HSGB.  Kate makes lampwork beads that they incorporate into their designs.  She also creates handmade chainmaille with interchangeable bracelet inserts.  You just have to see them to believe how cute they are.

Mary Jarvis is another members of the HSGB and is well known for her signature beach hearts.  Mary creates her lampwork beads in her Spring studio and also teaches private lessons.

Leah Nelson is one of the original members of the HSGB and creates her bright, cheerful beads in her Woodlands studio.  Leah also makes Boro beads and is an experienced teacher and offers private and semi-private lessons.

Donna Montez is a glass fuser, lampwork artist and Webmaster of the HSGB website.  Donna is also the vice president of the HSGB.

Crystal Gilbert is the president of the HSGB. Crystal is known for her large, organic focals and one-of-a-kind pendant beads.

Bonny Corner is a member of HSGB and specializes in Boro beads. She also makes beads that will fit your Biagi or Pandora bracelet.
