Welcome to My Studio
My studio started out as an 8’ x 10’ metal garden shed. My DH Paul and I worked through the hot Texas summer in 2004 to finish the inside so I’d have a nice place to work. It’s fully insulated, has two air conditioners, two nice windows and a big ol’ door with a crack at the bottom where I get my make-up air. Believe it or not I planted that palm tree as a baby 4 years ago. I guess it's happy!
I work on a little table I’ve had since the beginning, and although it’s small it keeps me from making too big a mess. On my table I have a Creation Station and my Bobcat torch. Next to my torch table I have my two oxygen concentrators that supply all the oxygen I need for my, sometimes, large focal beads. On the other side is glass storage.
I also have a little table on which I keep my TV/DVD player because I love to listen to Harry Potter on tape while I make beads. I know most people listen to music, but I’m hooked on Harry Potter and have listened to each of the books at least a dozen times. Hey, we all have our quirks.
I use primarily 104 COE glass for my larger focals and animal prints, and Bullseye and Spectrum for my shells. I buy my Spectrum as stained glass and cut it into strips.
So that's my little studio. It's a happy place where I can go and create beads that, hopefully, will pass that happiness on to whoever eventually owns them. Thanks for dropping by!
